Hi everyone! I’m Isabelle Kwan, a third-year CS major currently in co-op as a backend developer. I’m also the president of the Computing Science Student Society, an amazing group that hosts fun events and advocates for students. If that doesn't catch your attention, I’ve also completed a research term in Human-Computer Interaction at SFU’s ixLab, where I co-authored two papers. Before that, I volunteered at SFU’s Gruvi Lab, joining reading groups and helping with data annotation for graduate students. Finally, I’m also proud to be an entrance scholarship recipient with distinction! I hope this long description didn't scare anyone, I promise I'm super friendly. I am so excited to meet you all and hope you all have fun at Try/Catch 2024!

Howdy Try/CATCHers! I’m a CS major and interactive arts and technology minor here at SFU. Beyond that, I’m most passionate about acquiring a variety of experiences and exploring different perspectives. I’ve spent 4 years on the WiCS team, interned as a web developer/designer, explored the HCI research field, worked as a coding/STEM instructor, paddled on the SFU dragon boating team, and up next I’ll be spending the summer in Taiwan studying abroad. Professionally, I’m also an avid matcha consumer, amateur rock climber, enjoyer of sad queer indie girl music, possessor of too many hobbies, and looking forward to meeting y’all <3
